Learn about the Beagle
Nose first, heart second, ears last
The Beagle was bred as a small pack dog for hunting hares and rabbits. It swapped size for stamina and a brilliant nose. In our family tree, its ancestors include the Talbot and the Southern Hound, with a little Greyhound. It is still a popular breed, and it helped make some later terriers and hunting dogs.
