Learn about the Irish Setter
Red-coated wanderer with a joyful soul
The Irish Setter was bred from older Irish setting dogs into a fast, stylish red gundog that finds game birds. In our family tree, its ancestors include the English Setter, the Irish Water Spaniel, the Gordon Setter and the Pointer. It later helped make the Golden Retriever, and it is still its own breed today. Tap a circle inside to keep digging.
